This month’s hat is inspired by Arches National Park in Utah. Since the beginning, I've wanted to design a tam-style hat and I've also wanted to use this particular lace pattern. There is something about it that is so lovely and delicate about it, just like the Delicate Arch that this color is named for so it all came together perfectly. The surprisingly simple shell lace pattern has somewhat of an arched effect that I think is just lovely. The crown shaping is particularly pretty as well. The tam itself isn't overwhelmingly slouchy, so it would work for a variety of heads. Written for 2 adult sizes in a DK weight yarn, this hat is a pretty quick knit, and a must for a lover of the red rocked desert parks. Happy knitting!

This pattern is part of the National Park Hats Collection for 2022. You can purchase the entire collection at a discount on Ravelry.
