Truckee Meadows Shawl (PDF Pattern)

$7.00

This shawl was designed for the Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl 2020. The purchase includes a downloadable PDF knitting pattern to knit the shawl.

Materials:

  • 2 Skeins of Arkaik Fibres Lore Fingering (100g/437yds) - shown in Lucky for Who (C1) & Hangin’ on for Hope (C2)  – or - 2 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn with medium drape and very little “bounce” (ie. No nylon) and at least 437 yards per skein, but even better if there is more.

  • US size 5 – 32 or 40” circular knitting needle (or size needed to obtain gauge.

  • US size 4 DPN (just one), or needle 1-2 sizes smaller than the needle used for the body of the shawl.

  • Darning needle for weaving in ends.

  • Stitch markers (optional)

Finished Measurements:
Approximately 77” along top edge and 21” deep at center after blocking.

Gauge:
Blocked: 17 sts & 38 rows = 4” in garter stitch.

Unblocked: 20 sts & 48 rows = 4” in garter stitch

Note: Almost all of C2 is used. I had just a few grams of yarn left. Be sure to check gauge and go down a needle size if needed. Better to have MORE stitches per 1” (aka. a tighter gauge) than fewer stitches per 1” (looser.) I cannot stress enough how important it is to do a gauge swatch.
